T-Star Center’s project leader, Professor Chee-Wee Liu, traveled to San Francisco on December 9, 2023, to attend the prestigious International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM). There, he presented a significant research achievement titled “First Demonstration of Monolithic Self-aligned Heterogeneous Nanosheet Channel Complementary FETs with Matched VT by Band Alignments of Individual Channels,” which garnered unanimous attention from scholars and experts, enhancing the international visibility of our center. During IEDM, professor Liu had in-depth technical exchanges with professor Sayeef Salahuddin, a pioneer in ferroelectric materials and devices at BETR center. They discussed the physics of NC devices, process methods, current status and shared research insights. They unanimously agreed on the necessity of innovatively developing advanced technologies to mitigate the negative effects caused by defects in ferroelectric materials, such as epitaxial HZO methods, to facilitate industrialization.
